What specific topics and techniques will be covered during the training?
The online content is self-paced and includes the following: The history of aesthetics; facial anatomy including vasculature, skin, muscles, bone, and ligaments; Introduction to neuromodulators including pharmacology, dosing, reconstitution; the science of facial aging; complication management; Rheology of hyaluronic acid dermal filler; Treatment and assessment with dermal filler; The art of the consult; and a review of lasers, IPL, microneedling, and biostimulatory fillers. The content is self-paced, although the suggested timeline is designed for working professionals. The content builds upon itself, therefore each learning activity must be sequentially completed.
In our Comprehensive Program, there are graded assignments throughout the didactic portion to ensure mastery of the material. There is a multiple choice exam in week one, video assignments in weeks two and four, and a case study paper for week three. These assignments are designed for you to critically think about the essential material and be able to apply it to real-world scenarios.
Our Comprehensive Course includes 5 days of hands-on injecting which is designed to put your theoretical knowledge to practical use! Each day starts with an overview of relevant course material (such as practicing extrusion force and dexterity with syringes of filler) and a specialty session covering topics including how to land your first medspa job, what makes a good medspa to work for, and role-playing the consult. Then, you will be injecting real people with real products! Each day is designed to focus on injecting in one domain: neuromodulators in the forehead, between the brows and crows feet; filler in the lips; filler in the cheeks; and filler in the chin. Upon course completion, you will be provided with the before and after photos of any patient you inject to begin your portfolio so you can show off your work!

What is the process for enrollment?
Navigate to the course you are interested in, and click the "Enroll" button where you will be prompted to enter your payment information. Your payment is fully refundable up to 30 days prior to course start date, and 50% refundable 14 days prior to course start date. After the payment has been processed, a member of our team will reach out to you via email to verify your license information. If, for whatever reason, you are deemed ineligible to participate in the course, you will receive a full refund.

Are there any prerequisites or prior experience required to enroll in the course?
No prior experience is required! Our courses are designed for the provider with minimal or no aesthetic experience.
Because our Comprehensive Program includes 5 days of hands-on injecting, all attendees must have a current, unencumbered license as one of the following: MD, DO, PA, NP, RN.

What if I don't have a California nursing license?
Yes! Aesthetic Training Academy by SDBotox is a California Board of Registered Nursing approved Continuing Education provider.
"Nursing services may be rendered by a student when these services are incidental to the course of study of one of the following:
(a) A student enrolled in a board-approved prelicensure program or school of nursing.
(b) A nurse licensed in another state or country taking a board-approved continuing education course or a postlicensure course." Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 2729

What qualifications or certifications will I receive upon completion of the course?
Upon successful completion of the Comprehensive Program, Registered Nurses will receive a certificate of completion including all 30 continuing education units (CEUs) needed for biyearly California license renewal.
After successfully completing our Self-Paced Program, all attendees will be mailed a certification of completion. If you are a registered nurse, you will receive a certificate of completion which includes 15 continuing education units (CEU's).
